About the Role

MCL Concrete Ltd. is seeking a skilled Cement Finisher to join our team. As a Cement Finisher, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality finish on our concrete surfaces.

Key Responsibilities
  • Check formwork, granular base, and steel reinforcement materials to ensure they meet our quality standards.
  • Direct the placement of concrete into forms or onto surfaces according to grade.
  • Fill hollows and remove spots on freshly poured cement to achieve a smooth finish.
  • Operate power vibrators to compact concrete and ensure it is properly set.
  • Level the top surface of concrete according to grade and depth specification.
  • Impart the desired finish to concrete surfaces using hand and power tools.
  • Instruct apprentices and provide guidance on best practices.
  • Waterproof, damp proof, and restore surfaces to their original condition.
  • Repair, resurface, and replace worn or damaged sections of concrete structures.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications to ensure accuracy.
Work Environment

As a Cement Finisher, you will work in a variety of locations, including outdoors and in different weather conditions. You will be required to stand for extended periods, handle heavy loads, and work in a physically demanding environment.

Requirements
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in the trade.
  • No degree, certificate, or diploma is required.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and provide guidance to apprentices.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet quality standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications.
