Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Financial Data Analyst to join our Commercial Finance team. As a key member of our finance team, you will play a critical role in driving business growth and profitability through data-driven decision making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain financial planning and reporting infrastructure to support commercial teams success.
  • Review budget versus actuals and perform risk assessments.
  • Design and implement margin optimization strategies within the Canadian Consumer and Medical segments.
  • Own and build the entire business unit P&L – includes understanding types of costs go through OPEX and CAPEX, and understanding efficiencies among vendors and types of spend.
  • Provide guidance on matters requiring finance support (i.e. AP process improvements, ad-hoc reporting asks, financial metric analysis, etc.).
  • Design profitability models (DCF, cost/benefit analysis, project analysis, etc.) for potential new investments, projects, and partnerships to provide business decision support during negotiations.
  • Provide business decision support reporting, board decks, business performance, and other reporting requirements and assist with ad-hoc requests, project coordination, FP&A support to other internal clients as needed.
  • Execute and adhere to software development lifecycle best practices.

Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Economics or Finance.
  • 5 years of business decision support experience, preferably with a publicly traded company, global organization, public accounting firm, management consulting, or investment banking.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and analytical reporting tools.
  • Prior experience using a multi-dimensional ERP system for management reporting and providing financial and analytical support to those outside the Finance function.
  • A dynamic team player who can collaborate with all levels of an organization, including senior executives, and convey complex technical terms in simple and engaging formats to guide decision-making.
  • An organized individual who can manage multiple projects at once successfully in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
