Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate individual to join our team as a Mental Health Professional at Island Health.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A diploma in Community Social Services or a related health program
  • Two years of recent experience in a related field
  • Recognized post-basic education related to mental illness and addiction
  • Knowledge of applicable legislation, such as the Mental Health Act and the Guardianship Act
  • Knowledge of available programs and their interrelationships
  • A valid Class 5 BC Driver's License
Key Responsibilities

As a Mental Health Professional, you will be responsible for:

  • Communicating effectively with clients and colleagues
  • Establishing and maintaining rapport with clients
  • Dealing with others effectively
  • Prioritizing and organizing client demands and care needs
  • Analyzing and resolving problems
  • Teaching life skills
  • Working independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Requirements

In addition to the qualifications listed above, you will require:

  • Current Standard First Aid/CPR Level C certification
  • Food Safe certification
