Environmental Laboratory Specialist

This role involves conducting a wide range of testing and analysis on base and precious metal ores, industrial minerals, and materials in a laboratory setting.
Key Responsibilities- Perform moderate technological functions within laboratory or pilot plant operations.
- Design, develop, test, install, and operate equipment and systems.
- Conduct applied research and experimental testing.
- Compile and analyze data and prepare reports.
- Receive, inspect, sort, and label client samples.
- Work with various laboratory equipment, including pipettes, burettes, and pH meters.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment or components.
- Calibrate and set up equipment prior to analysis.
- Maintain a clean working environment and adhere to company Health, Safety, and Environmental policies.
- Post-secondary education in a Science-related program (Chemistry, Metallurgical Engineering Technology, etc.) is required.
- Preferably a Chemical technician/technology diploma.
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in a laboratory setting is an asset.
- Good hand-eye coordination when handling samples and equipment.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow work instructions in a safe, accurate, and timely manner.
- Proficiency in using various computer software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Strong attention to detail and effective communication skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and balance conflicting demands.
