Job Title: Concrete Finisher

SOL & MAR CONTRACTING INC. is seeking a skilled Concrete Finisher to join our team. As a Concrete Finisher, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality finish on concrete surfaces.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Fill hollows and remove spots on freshly poured cement to achieve a smooth finish.
  • Operate power vibrators to compact concrete and ensure it is properly set.
  • Level top surface concrete according to grade and depth specification to ensure accuracy.
  • Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages, to complete tasks safely and efficiently.
  • Impart desired finish to concrete surfaces using hand and power tools, such as trowels and floaters.
  • Install anchor bolts, steel plates, door sills, and other fixtures to complete the concrete finishing process.
  • Apply hardening and sealing components to cure surfaces and ensure durability.
  • Waterproof, damp proof, and restore surfaces to prevent damage and extend the lifespan of concrete structures.
  • Repair, resurface, and replace worn or damaged sections of concrete structures to maintain their integrity.
Requirements:
  • 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in the trade.
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Physically demanding work environment, requiring handling heavy loads and standing for extended periods.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work accurately.
  • Sound discrimination and ability to work in a noisy environment.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with colleagues.
  • Valid safety equipment and gear, including steel-toed safety boots, hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs, and gloves.
Work Environment:

The Concrete Finisher will work in a variety of environments, including outdoors, in dusty and wet conditions, and at heights. The work environment will be physically demanding, requiring the ability to handle heavy loads and work in confined spaces.

Language:

The primary language spoken in the workplace is English.

Work Hours:

The Concrete Finisher will work 35 to 44 hours per week, with a permanent work term.
