We are seeking a skilled Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day activities of our bakery operations in Ontario. This is a permanent full-time position offering 40 hours of work per week.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for minimizing hazards at all stages of food production, training staff in job duties and safety procedures, preparing production reports, and recommending measures to improve productivity and product quality. They will also supervise and coordinate activities of up to 15 employees, including process control and machine operators, and establish methods to meet work schedules and coordinate work activities with other departments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and co-ordinate activities of workers, ensuring efficient and safe work practices.
  • Train staff in job duties, safety procedures, and company policies.
  • Prepare production and other reports to monitor performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Requisition or order materials, equipment, and supplies as needed.
  • Establish and implement methods to meet work schedules and coordinate work activities with other departments.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • At least 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role in a similar industry.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with staff and stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
  • A strong understanding of health and safety regulations and best practices.
  • Ability to work under pressure and make sound judgments in a fast-paced environment.
Working Conditions

This is a physically demanding role that requires regular lifting and standing. The successful candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain attention to detail while handling heavy loads.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health and dental insurance, retirement savings plan, and paid time off.
