We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join our team. This strategic position reports directly to the CEO and plays a pivotal role in managing our financial systems and processes. As the Financial Controller, you will take a proactive approach to budgeting, ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial data, and provide critical insights to inform our company's financial decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement comprehensive financial plans, forecasts, and detailed annual and monthly budgets to drive strategic decision-making.

Oversee and optimize the entire budget process, including variance analysis and budget-to-actual reporting, ensuring seamless execution.

Evaluate current accounting operations, identify areas for improvement, and implement new efficiencies to enhance our financial performance.

Ensure the integrity of financial reporting by coordinating the preparation of internal and external financial statements, adhering to regulatory requirements.

Collaborate closely with external auditors, preparing all necessary documentation for annual audits, fostering a culture of transparency.

Spearhead regulatory reporting, including tax planning and compliance, with a focus on strategic cost management, driving business growth.

Develop and monitor key business performance metrics, providing actionable insights to inform management's decision-making.

Evaluate and recommend updates to accounting software and database management systems, staying ahead of industry trends.

Manage the consolidation of financial data for a comprehensive view of our company's financial health, enabling data-driven decision-making.

Requirements

Candidate Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, with a strong foundation in financial principles.

CPA designation (or equivalent) is required, demonstrating expertise in financial management.

A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, with at least 2 years in a Controller role, showcasing leadership skills.

Experience working with startups or rapidly growing companies is highly valued, providing a unique perspective on financial management.

Advanced knowledge of IT systems, financial management, accounting, taxation principles, and internal controls specific to dynamic businesses, driving financial success.

Demonstrated flexibility to work alongside the CEO as needed for key financial tasks, showcasing adaptability.

  • Proven track record of recognizing and executing efficiency opportunities, streamlining financial processes.
  • Experience working in a high-growth, entrepreneurial environment, providing a unique understanding of financial challenges.
  • Bilingual in English and French (Spanish is an asset), enhancing communication with diverse stakeholders.
  • Skilled in strategic financial planning and project management, driving business outcomes.
