About Your Next Challenge

L3Harris MAPPS is seeking a seasoned Financial Operations Manager to oversee the accounting operations. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who collaborates cross-functionally with various individuals across all levels of the organization.

This role is responsible for the company's financial plans and policies, accounting practices, and oversight of financial report preparation.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end management accounting processes, delivering reports in an accurate and timely manner that are insightful to drive effective decisions;
  2. Supervise and mentor accounting staff;
  3. Review monthly contract accounting to ensure high project accuracy and compliance with revenue recognition policies;
  4. Cash management - responsible for treasury functions of the business, including sufficient funds available and control oversight of bank accounts;
  5. Lead preparation of internal and external audit fieldwork and schedules;
  6. Improve financial reporting processes;
  7. Review and improve internal controls and SOX compliance, partner with internal audit and corporate accounting to ensure compliance with L3Harris policies;
  8. Review balance sheet and P&L reconciliation(s) to meet reporting requirements;
  9. Review R&D Tax claim process to ensure timely submission, working closely with external accountants and SLT;
  10. Provide essential support to the team's daily operations, facilitating a seamless workflow and efficient practices;
  11. Lead and manage ad-hoc projects, demonstrating flexibility and capacity to drive change;
  12. Champion the enhancement of finance processes and tools, including the introduction of automation to increase efficiency and accuracy;
  13. Foster the development and maintenance of robust financial controls to secure the company's assets and ensure financial integrity.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  1. Bachelor's Degree in Finance/Accounting;
  2. Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience;
  3. Hold the CPA accounting designation;
  4. Able to lead and mentor accounting team;
  5. Requires strong analytical and problem-solving ability;
  6. Strong knowledge of Balance Sheet and Income Statement;
  7. Manage and perform multiple tasks;
  8. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written English & French proficiency;
  9. Prior experience using Oracle SmartView, an asset;
  10. Prior Aerospace and Defense industry experience.
Estimated Salary

$120,000 - $180,000 per annum, based on location and experience.
