Critical Care Nurse Specialist Opportunity

The Scarborough Hospital is shaping the future of care, with a patient-focused total care model in our Critical Care Program. As a Critical Care Nurse Specialist, you will provide high-quality nursing care to patients and their families, based on the philosophy and conceptual framework of Nursing Practice at The Scarborough Hospital.
You will work in an inter-professional team environment, providing exceptional customer service to patients and families. You will be responsible for reporting to the Manager of Critical Care and will have opportunities to pursue your learning needs. The successful applicant will be required to work at The Scarborough Hospital's Centenary hospital site, based on departmental needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing high-quality nursing care to patients and their families
- Working in an inter-professional team environment to provide exceptional customer service
- Pursuing opportunities to meet your learning needs
- Reporting to the Manager of Critical Care
Requirements:
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Current ACLS (or willingness to obtain within 6 months of employment)
- Current BCLS
- Enrolled in critical care certificate program (completion required within 1 year of hire)
- 1-2 years of medical/surgical experience in an acute care setting
- Willingness to participate in continuing education and unit-based initiatives such as LEAN, Unit Councils, Audits etc.
