Job SummaryWe are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kitchen Volunteer to support our Food Program at Directions Youth Services Centre. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen, preparing and serving meals, and maintaining a safe and clean environment.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the Food Program staff with meal preparation, inventory management, and kitchen organization.
- Build positive relationships with youth who access our drop-in centre, and serve as a positive role model.
- Maintain accurate attendance records and report concerns to the Food Program Supervisor.
- Help sort and store food donations, and adhere to all program and agency policies and safety standards.
- Experience working with youth, preferably in support of youth who use substances, face mental health challenges, and/or are unhoused.
- Experience working in a kitchen, food service, or customer service environment.
- Lived experience is considered an asset.
- Current First Aid Certificate and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training are assets.
As a Kitchen Volunteer with Family Services of Greater Vancouver, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable youth. You will be part of a dynamic team that is committed to providing high-quality services and support.
