Job Title: Mechanical Designer

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Designer to join our team at Trans-United Consultants Ltd.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical systems and products, working closely with cross-functional teams to meet customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop 2D and 3D mechanical layouts, sketches, models, and drawings with minimal direction
  • Collaborate with customers, sales, project managers, and other designers to understand project requirements
  • Research and design mechanical products, equipment, systems, and processes to meet customer needs
  • Specify system components, prepare bills of material, and direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications
  • Verify completed layouts, drawings, and ECNs for proper fit and function, accuracy, and completeness
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in engineering design in a manufacturing environment
  • Working knowledge of mechanical parts, strength of materials, and mechanical properties
  • Post-secondary education in mechanical design, mechatronics, or mechanical engineering or related field
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks or comparable 3D design platform(s)
  • Experience with PDM is preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Preference given to candidates with Faro-Arm experience
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of work time, including international travel
