Job Title: Mechanical Engineering Technician

At The Engineering Institute of Canada, we are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineering Technician to join our team.

Responsibilities:
  • System Design Support: Collaborate with engineers to design and develop HVAC systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project requirements.
  • Testing and Prototyping: Conduct thorough testing and performance evaluations of HVAC equipment to guarantee optimal performance.
  • Installation Support: Provide technical assistance during the installation and commissioning of HVAC systems in various building types.
  • Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues in HVAC systems, performing repairs and maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
  • Documentation: Prepare detailed reports, technical drawings, and specifications for HVAC systems, including documenting changes and improvements.
  • Compliance and Standards: Ensure all designs, installations, and maintenance adhere to local codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, project managers, and contractors to deliver solutions that meet client needs.
  • Software Use: Utilize CAD software and other engineering tools to create and update mechanical designs for HVAC systems.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends, new HVAC technologies, and best practices to improve system efficiency and effectiveness.
Qualifications:
  • A two- or three-year college diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technician or Technologist programs.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the North American HVAC industry is preferred.
