Your Challenge

EXP Services Inc. is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to join our Electrical team in our Markham, ON office. The successful candidate will be part of a diverse engineering group in Central Canada poised for growth and challenging opportunities.

Your Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary point of contact with client project managers for project scope definition, schedule, and budget requirements.
  • Ensure that engineering quality levels are met for assigned projects.
  • Oversee the development of design concepts by designers and ensure proper application and execution.
  • Verify designer work quality regarding specifications, reports, code application, submittal review, equipment selection, deliverables, and drawings.
  • Mentor and encourage the development of designer-level staff.
  • Lead the design team to develop the Basis of Design (BOD), Schematic Design (SD), Design Development (DD), and Construction Documents (CD) that meet project requirements within the allocated schedule and budget.
  • Have a solid understanding of engineering fundamentals and advanced concepts to execute all required aspects of discipline engineering.
  • Manage work plans and deliverables on multiple projects within budgeted hours.
  • Apply risk management practices to all projects.
  • Write studies and reports on electrical system work.
  • Contribute to revisions of EXP's design standards and master specifications.

The Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities We Seek

  • The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in the Electrical Engineering field.
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or equivalent degree.
  • Registered Professional Engineer.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project) and electrical design software.
  • Auto CAD experience required and REVIT MEP proficiency desired.
