We are seeking an experienced Substation Project Manager to lead our team of electrical engineers in designing and delivering state-of-the-art substation projects in the US. As a key member of our Power Systems Department, you will be responsible for managing multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion, and meeting client expectations.
Key Responsibilities- Project Management: Manage time, quality, and financial aspects of projects to meet deadlines and project success criteria.
- Design Review and Guidance: Serve as a substation engineer, guiding and reviewing designs for medium and high voltage substation projects, ensuring compliance with industry codes and standards.
- Quality Assurance and Control: Ensure Ramboll QA/QC procedures are implemented, and codes and standards related to the power systems environment are understood and implemented.
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, conveying technical knowledge convincingly through effective communication and ensuring projects are aligned with client objectives.
- Team Leadership: Host and lead design meetings, follow up on work performed by all disciplines, and foster an environment of continuous learning and development.
We are looking for a highly experienced electrical engineer with a strong understanding of substation design and project management. The ideal candidate will have:
- Electrical Engineering Degree: B.Eng., BS, or MS in Electrical Engineering.
- Substation Design Experience: 5+ years' experience in the design of substation facilities with a strong understanding of layout optimization and technical knowledge of major equipment associated with substation facilities.
- Project Management Experience: Significant experience in project management, preferably within a similar role.
- Leadership and Development Skills: Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to communicate effectively with employees and clients, resolve conflicts, and foster an environment of continuous learning and development.
- Professional Engineering License: Highly preferred.
- Industry Knowledge: Advanced knowledge of project development stages, including siting, feasibility, conceptual design, Front End Engineering Design (FEED), procurement, and EPC delivery.
- Utility Practices and Industry Codes: Advanced knowledge of utility practices, industry codes, and standards (NESC, IEEE, etc.).
