Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team at Miller Paving Limited. As a Heavy Equipment Operator, you will be responsible for operating heavy equipment such as loaders and hydraulic pumping systems to perform various tasks on construction sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate Heavy Equipment: Safely operate heavy equipment such as loaders, hydraulic pumping systems, and computer-controlled equipment to perform tasks such as cleaning and lubricating equipment, measuring distance and volume, and operating GPS and navigation equipment.
  • Conduct Pre-Operational Checks: Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment to ensure it is in good working condition.
  • Prepare Accident Reports: Prepare accident reports and complete onboard and other logs as required.
  • Secure Special Attachments: Secure special attachments to equipment as needed.
  • Perform Minor Repairs: Perform minor repairs to equipment as required.
  • Read and Interpret Blueprints: Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications to understand the purpose and proper usage of equipment.
Requirements
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma is required for this position.
  • Experience: 1 to less than 7 months of experience in a related field is preferred.
  • Physical Demands: This position requires a physically demanding work environment with attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Language: English is the primary language spoken in this role.
  • Work Schedule: 40 to 50 hours per week.
