Director, Construction

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Director of Construction to lead our construction team and oversee the development and construction of our projects. The successful candidate will have a strong background in construction management, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the construction activities of all product types, including high-rise multi-family, low-rise wood-frame structures, office towers, and other miscellaneous product types.
  • Provide leadership and cost insights to the land and property acquisitions process.
  • Manage and supervise the construction team, including project managers, construction managers, development coordinators, and customer care managers.
  • Create and implement internal processes related to development and construction within the company.
  • Work closely with various departments and teams, internally and externally, to shape and strengthen the processes related to the acquisition, planning, and pre-con management, design and development.
  • Participate in regular strategy formulation processes and annual target setting process for the Company.
  • Play a role in building the team and designing incentive schemes for the Company's long-term goals and participate in assessing the performances of key middle management members.

Requirements:

  • 15-20 years of construction management experience with reputable General Contractor or Developers in the Lower Mainland.
  • Post-secondary education in Construction Management or related field.
  • Strong experience working in leadership, managing, and mentoring teams, guiding multiple projects through conception, design development, and completion.
  • Strong organizational skills to oversee the execution of various phases of the projects, including project initiation: requirements gathering, scope definition, creation of budget and schedule, staffing, and strict review/implementation of construction management contracts.
  • Strong problem resolution skills, ability to identify, monitor, and manage project issues and risks.

What We Offer:
