Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Building Service Worker to join our team at the City of Burnaby. As a key member of our Parks, Recreation and Culture Department, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our recreation facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clean and maintain floors, washrooms, and change rooms to ensure a safe and healthy environment for patrons
  • Perform minor repair tasks on buildings and equipment to prevent damage and ensure optimal functionality
  • Assist with setting up furniture and equipment for events and activities
  • Drive a vehicle to pick up mail, supplies, and perform other tasks as required
Requirements
  • High school graduation or equivalent
  • Experience in janitorial work and minor maintenance of buildings and equipment
  • Ability to complete light manual work and work with minimal supervision
  • Valid Driver's License for the Province of British Columbia
Working Conditions

This position requires working a variety of shifts, including overnight and weekend shifts. The location of work will be at one of our recreation facilities, including the Bonsor Recreation Complex, Christine Sinclair Community Centre, Eileen Dailly Leisure Pool & Fitness Centre, or Edmonds Community Centre.
