**Key Responsibilities**
- Plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate the purchasing activities of our establishment.
- Develop purchasing policies and procedures and control the purchasing department budget.
- Identify vendors of materials, equipment, or supplies.
- Evaluate the cost and quality of goods or services.
- Negotiate or oversee the negotiation of purchase contracts.
- Participate in the development of specifications for equipment, products, or substitute materials.
- Review and process claims against suppliers.
- Interview, hire, and oversee the training of staff.
- Create, monitor, analyze, and improve the demand forecast for both the short and long term.
- Cooperate with the sales and supply chain (operations) teams and contribute to the clarity towards other areas about capacity needs.
**Requirements**
- Procurement and purchasing agents and officers usually require a bachelor's degree or college diploma in business administration, commerce, or economics.
- 3-5 years of work experience in the supply chain for sourcing specialists and analysts is usually required (a comparable, relevant position).
