We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Research Scientist I to join our team in Process Safety and Development. This role will play a critical part in ensuring the safe development and manufacturing of our pharmaceutical products.
Estimated SalaryThe estimated salary for this position is $120,000 - $160,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
Key Responsibilities- Manage site process safety operations, including providing training and guidance to process chemistry personnel and acting as a process safety subject matter expert for other departments.
- Provide process safety assessments for active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) manufacturing performed under cGMP, including documentation related to batch records and specifications.
- Develop and maintain process safety evaluation systems and procedures for the site and act as a corporate resource on process safety issues.
- Participate in the recruitment, selection, management, development, and evaluation of staff, with a strong emphasis on developing colleagues through mentorship and project teams.
- Responsible for process safety assessments and investigations for the manufacturing of drug substances, including the use of appropriate methods and techniques to support process development activities and other project goals.
- Interpret data and present process hazard evaluation results, maintaining alignment with corporate process safety goals and directing personnel with interpretation of and compliance with process safety requirements.
- Develop, manage, and promote site process safety programs and systems, including the development of process safety assessment tools, training programs, and other tools to support site safety culture and performance.
- A Ph.D. in chemistry or a related science or engineering field, with 2+ years of relevant experience, or an MS/MA in a related scientific discipline with 8+ years' industry experience, or a BS/BA in a related scientific discipline with 10+ years' industry experience.
- Pharmaceutical/fine chemical industry experience in process safety and development is preferred.
- Strong collaboration, communication, and writing skills are required.
