Job Title: Bar Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Bar Manager to join our team at Artemis Design Ltd.

Job Summary:

The Bar Manager will be responsible for the overall management of our bar operations, including staff supervision, inventory management, and customer service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate daily operations to ensure efficiency and effectiveness
  • Monitor revenues and labour costs to optimize profitability
  • Supervise staff to ensure excellent customer service and high-quality products
  • Plan and organize daily operations, including inventory management and staff scheduling
  • Recruit and train staff to meet business needs
  • Set staff work schedules and monitor performance
  • Supervise staff to ensure compliance with provincial/territorial liquor legislation and regulations
  • Balance cash and complete balance sheets, cash reports, and related forms
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback to staff
  • Cost products and services to ensure profitability
  • Enforce health and safety regulations and ensure a safe working environment
  • Negotiate with clients for catering or use of facilities
  • Participate in marketing plans and implementation
  • Lead and instruct staff to achieve business objectives
  • Address customer complaints and provide excellent customer service
  • Manage events and plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate daily operations
Requirements:
  • 5-10 years of experience in a bar management role
  • Proven track record of success in managing bar operations and staff
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure
  • Basic security clearance and criminal record check
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bartender certification and Serving It Right Certificate
  • Experience with accounting software and point of sale systems
  • MS Excel and MS Office skills
  • Ability to work in a standing environment for extended periods
