About the Position:

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our Field Services team at Technica Mining. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting local projects across our Northern Ontario work sites, troubleshooting and diagnosing mechanical failures of motorized equipment, and performing daily equipment inspections.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support local projects across our Northern Ontario work sites.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical failures of motorized equipment.
  • Perform daily equipment inspections.
  • Test repaired equipment for proper performance to ensure work meets manufacturers specifications.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date service logs and documentation.
  • Order parts as required to complete repairs.
  • Follow daily line-ups and executing scheduled work in accordance with health and safety standards as well as manufacturer specifications.

Qualifications:

  • 421A Heavy Duty Equipment Technician - minimum level 3 or;
  • Licensed 310T Truck and Coach Technician or;
  • Licensed 310S Automotive Service Technician.
  • Basic Underground Hard Rock Mining Common Core (U0000, U0001, U0002, & U00012) or equivalent provincial designation is preferred.
  • Minimum of three (3) years' underground experience is preferred.
  • Strong diagnostic skills to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
  • Strong technical aptitude to use digital platforms used for work orders, email, etc.
  • High level of self-motivation and autonomy.
  • Ability to work as a team and independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Committed to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Ability to commute to work (may include travel throughout Ontario).

Schedule:

  • Monday to Thursday (Days) - Must be willing and able to work night shift and weekends if required.
