Development Coordinator Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Development Coordinator to join our team at JD Development Group. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in managing the development process, from feasibility analysis to project occupancy and registration.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze planning status and prepare concept plans for potential projects.
  • Prepare all necessary materials for submission to regulatory bodies, including development applications and municipal permits.
  • Coordinate with municipal staff and other approval agencies to ensure timely project approvals.
  • Assist in project budget preparation and track actual costs against forecasts.
  • Review consultant reports and design work, providing input from a technical, practical, and marketing perspective.
  • Prepare building permits and other municipal permits related to servicing, construction, access, and encroachments.
  • Assist in the selection and hiring process of project consultants.
  • Manage relationships and interface with engineers, contractors, architects, and colleagues on a variety of projects.
  • Develop and manage project schedules, incorporating all phases of the project cycle.
Requirements:
  • Experience in land use planning with demonstrated knowledge of complex projects, including subdivision plans, official plan and zoning amendments, and site plan approvals.
  • A thorough understanding of the Planning and Development processes, including Draft Plan of Subdivision and Condominium, Zoning Amendments, and Site Plan approval.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Ontario Planning Act.
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to build rapport with clients and negotiate effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • University degree.
