The salary range for this position is CAD $41.42/Hr. - CAD $55.91/Hr., depending on experience and qualifications.
Job Description
This role offers an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse to join the Discharge Lounge team at Lions Gate Hospital in North Vancouver, BC. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating client care for designated surgical short stay patients. Key responsibilities include participating in discharge planning, advocating for clients, teaching clients and their families about illness/injury and overall health promotion and wellness, enhancing quality of life, documenting care provided, responding to incidents, consulting with other healthcare providers, maintaining and advancing own clinical competence, and participating on designated hospital committees/teams and approved research projects as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will require current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM), demonstrated ability in nursing practice related to designated client groups, ability to develop and implement care plans, adjust to unexpected events, problem-solve, set priorities, deal with conflict, communicate effectively (both orally and in writing), work collaboratively as a member of an interdisciplinary team, counsel and teach clients and their families, provide leadership through initiative and independence, operate related equipment including a computerized client care information system, and demonstrate physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
