Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our team in Whistler, BC. As a Field and Infusion Nurse, you will play a key role in providing patient-focused care and contributing to the success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Administer Medications: Safely administer medications in home or specialty clinic settings, following established protocols and procedures.
  2. Support and Monitor IV Therapy: Assist with the administration of IV infusions in the clinic and/or homecare setting, monitoring for any adverse reactions or concerns.
  3. Chart and Report Activities: Accurately document and report on patient activities, adhering to program protocols and standards of professional nursing documentation.
  4. Patient Education: Provide education to patients on program protocols, individually or in groups, to ensure they understand their treatment plans.
  5. Report Adverse Events: Promptly report any adverse events, serious adverse events, or product complaints in accordance with Innomar training and policies & procedures.
  6. Reliable Availability: Ensure reliable availability to meet the needs of the IBU and the Nursing and clinics Key Performance Indicators.
  7. Clinic and Homecare Coordination: Coordinate daily with patients, case managers, physicians, scheduling, and other departments to meet established timelines for scheduling appointments, treatments, and communication of information.
  8. Administrative Duties: Perform administrative tasks such as monthly clinic audits, supply ordering, and other duties as assigned.
  9. Team Collaboration: Participate in web-based meetings/training sessions with the Business Area Manager, RNE, and Nurse Champion to maintain and enhance professional practice standards.
Requirements

We are looking for a highly skilled and dedicated Clinical Nurse Specialist who possesses:

  1. Minimum 2 years' experience: As a Registered Practical Nurse/Licensed Practical Nurse, with a strong background in IV therapy.
  2. Education and Certifications: Diploma/University degree in nursing or related field, current registration with provincial licensing body, CPR certificate, and ACLS, PALs, MS, and CVAA Certification, and central venous lines/port experience are considered assets.
  3. Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent customer service skills in dealing with patients, physicians, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
  4. Autonomy and Flexibility: Ability to work autonomously with little supervision as part of a larger team, with flexibility to provide services for pre-scheduled and occasional last-minute patient appointment requests.
