Lead a Team of Engineers in Signalling Systems Engineering

At Alstom, we're committed to creating a greener and smarter mobility future. As a Group Manager of Signalling Systems Engineering, you'll play a crucial role in leading a team of engineers to deliver high-quality solutions for our customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and implement department guidelines, ensuring the team is equipped to deliver exceptional results.
  • Develop and maintain the team's competences, growing experts in Railway Signalling Systems Engineering.
  • Set clear goals, delegate tasks, and ensure timely project execution.
  • Promote Alstom values and lead by example.
  • Prepare and host management reviews, driving continuous improvement.
  • Define and govern the group's strategy with stakeholders, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Develop golden rules for effective workshare, fostering collaboration and efficiency.
  • Continuously motivate, evaluate, and recognize team members, driving growth and development.
  • Deploy Global Systems Engineering Processes, Methods, and Tools, providing feedback for process reviews.
  • Collect and share best practices, feeding the Reference Library and driving innovation.
  • Estimate and validate activities quotations for tenders and projects, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness.
  • Manage workload and capacity, considering subcontracting and business strategies, and report status and issues to department head.
  • Commit to Project/Tender QCD related to Signalling Systems Engineering.

  • Staffing (hiring management, recruitment process)
  • Budget (work-packages and capex)
  • Department size: 10-15 people

Performance Management

  • KPI 1: Staffing - Capacity vs. workload, analysis, and action plan, aligned with budget targets and project needs.
  • KPI 2: Team maturity level and versatility.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or scientific subjects. Master's degree desirable.
  • English, full proficient use.

Experience

  • Engineering and processes background.
  • Experience in project execution and management.
  • Hands-on experience in Signalling Systems Engineering.
  • Experience and understanding in project estimating.
  • Comprehensive understanding of governance models and balanced scorecards in a technical environment.
  • Experience of working in multicultural and international environments.
