Mechanical Engineer Position

CIMA+ is a leading engineering firm with a strong presence in Eastern Canada and a growing footprint in Western Canada. We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Vancouver office and contribute to the success of our Buildings team.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HVAC and other aspects of mechanical engineering for buildings, with expertise in buildings decarbonization or deep retrofit projects, high energy efficiency projects, and strong abilities in cultivating relationships with clients. The candidate should be driven to develop innovative solutions to engineering challenges and accompany clients through the design process for various building types in institutional, commercial, and municipal infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:- Liaise directly with clients and maintain business relationships, including business development.
- Prepare or supervise the design of buildings, including commercial, residential, and institutional projects.
- Work with the project team from conceptual and preliminary stages of design through to completion.
- Ensure compliance to the quality assurance and control program.
- A recognized mechanical engineering degree and a P. Eng. designation.
- 10+ years of directly related experience in mechanical buildings engineering, including HVAC, plumbing, and building services.
- Self-motivation and strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Demonstrate a commitment to client service.
- Knowledge of Canadian codes and standards.
- Knowledge of commercial building automation systems and DDC controls systems.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, MicroStation, Revit, and commercial HVAC load calculation software.
- A valid BC driver's license.
