About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Early Childhood Educator to join our team at Saplings Outdoor Program. As an ECE Educator, you will play a vital role in creating a dynamic and engaging forest school experience for our young learners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Planning and Implementation: Collaborate with our management team to design and deliver a comprehensive forest program that promotes learning and development in a natural setting.
  • Child Safety and Well-being: Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in our care, including during outdoor activities such as forest play, hiking, and climbing.
  • Program Preparation and Maintenance: Prepare and maintain learning areas and materials, and assume overall responsibility for program tools and equipment.
  • Seasonal Activities and Projects: Plan, prepare, and co-create seasonal activities and projects that utilize natural materials and promote learning and exploration.
  • Mentorship and Support: Provide individualized mentorship and support to children, with a focus on compassion, respect, and social-emotional learning.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and other stakeholders to ensure a collaborative and supportive learning environment.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Early Childhood Education Diploma or Degree: A recognized diploma or degree in Early Childhood Education is essential.
  • BC Early Childhood Certificate: A current BC Early Childhood Certificate is required.
  • Clean Criminal Record Check: A clean criminal record check is necessary for this role.
  • First Aid Certificate: A current First Aid Certificate is required.
  • Experience Working with Children: Experience working with children aged 2.5-5 years old is essential.
  • Experience Supporting Children with Additional Needs: Experience supporting children with additional needs or neurodivergence is highly valued.
