Job Title: Early Childhood Educator

Saplings Outdoor Program is seeking a passionate and experienced Early Childhood Educator to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in creating a dynamic and engaging forest school experience for our young Saplings.

About the Role:

We are looking for an individual who is committed to providing high-quality education and care to children aged 2.5-5 years old. As an Early Childhood Educator, you will be responsible for planning and implementing a forest program that promotes learning, exploration, and creativity. You will work closely with our management team to ensure the safety and well-being of all children, and will be responsible for daily preparation of learning areas and materials.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and implement a dynamic forest program that promotes learning and exploration.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all children, including forest play, hiking, and climbing trees.
  • Prepare and maintain learning areas and materials.
  • Assume overall responsibility for program tools and equipment, including safety, use, and maintenance.
  • Plan and prepare seasonal activities and projects using natural materials.
  • Implement mentorship strategies that are individually focused and age-appropriate.
  • Attend staff meetings and parent meetings as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and colleagues.
Qualifications:
  • Early Childhood Education Diploma or Degree.
  • Current BC Early Childhood Certificate.
  • Clean Criminal Record Check.
  • Current First Aid Certificate.
  • Experience working with children aged 2.5-5 years old.
  • Experience supporting children with additional needs or neurodivergence.
