Aquaculture Support Specialist

Macs Oysters Ltd is seeking a skilled Aquaculture Support Specialist to join our team. As an Aquaculture Support Specialist, you will be responsible for maintaining and operating aquaculture equipment, ensuring the health and safety of our marine stocks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clean, sanitize, and dry aquaculture equipment to prevent the introduction of pathogens and disease
  • Maintain and operate aquaculture equipment, including cleaning and maintaining aquaculture enclosures
  • Report stock irregularities to supervisors and cull, mark, or tag aquaculture stocks as needed
  • Transport marine plants to processing plants and clean, sort, and pack shellfish
  • Grade and weigh aquaculture stocks

Requirements:

  • Dependability, flexibility, and initiative are essential for this role
  • Experience in aquaculture or a related field is an asset
  • Ability to work under pressure and perform repetitive tasks
  • Manual dexterity and ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs)

Working Conditions:

  • Work outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Work in/on water and in wet/damp environments
  • Exposure to odours

Language: English

Hours of Work: 40 hours per week
