We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team at MacDonell's Small Jobs Ltd. As a Carpenter, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to the construction and maintenance of buildings and other structures.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare layouts and designs in accordance with building codes and regulations, using measuring tools and equipment.
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials such as wood, wood substitutes, and other materials to create building components.
- Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems to ensure the structural integrity of buildings.
- Fabricate and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware to complete building projects.
- Maintain, repair, and renovate residential and commercial buildings, including wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, and other establishments.
- Working at heights training and Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate are required.
- Hand tools and other equipment are necessary for the job.
- Criminal record check is a requirement for this position.
- Physical demands include bending, crouching, kneeling, handling heavy loads, and working in a fast-paced environment.
