Postdoctoral Researcher in Regenerative Neuroscience

Are you a driven and ambitious researcher looking to advance your career in regenerative neuroscience? We are seeking two to three Postdoctoral Fellows to join our esteemed research team at the University of Manitoba, led by Dr. Soheila Karimi.
Research FocusOur team is committed to exploring innovative stem-cell mediated regeneration strategies for multiple sclerosis (MS) and spinal cord injury (SCI). As a postdoctoral fellow, you will have the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research projects that aim to develop novel treatments for these debilitating conditions.
We employ an array of advanced approaches, including preclinical models, micro-surgical techniques, stem cell transplantation, transgenic models, neural stem cell/neural tissue culture, pharmacological drug delivery, cellular, biochemical, and molecular techniques, genetic manipulations, cell tracing, fluorescence/confocal imaging, high throughput transcriptomics, bioengineering approaches, live imaging, and functional/neurological studies.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct independent research projects under the guidance of Dr. Karimi
- Develop and maintain rodent neuronal and primary cultures as well as human cell lines
- Perform and troubleshoot a wide variety of molecular and cellular biology techniques, including Western blotting, qPCR, immunohisto/cytochemistry, and RNA sequencing
- Collaborate with researchers from various disciplines to advance our understanding of neurodegeneration, neuroprotection, and neural repair

The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary, estimated to be around $60,000 CAD per annum, based on their qualifications and experience. This is a fully funded position through CIHR funding, initially for two years, with the potential to extend for an additional 2-3 years upon satisfactory performance.
