Infectious Disease Specialists focus on diagnosing and treating infections and diseases caused by pathogens. This role requires a strong understanding of complex infectious diseases and the ability to develop and manage treatment plans. Key responsibilities include:
  • Diagnosing complex infectious diseases.
  • Developing and managing treatment plans for infectious conditions.
  • Educating healthcare teams and patients on infection prevention.

Requirements
  • MD or DO degree.
  • Completion of internal medicine residency and infectious disease fellowship.
  • Board certification in infectious disease.
  • Strong analytical skills for interpreting lab results.
  • Good communication skills for patient education.
