Renal Associate Physician

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Associate Physician to join our Renal Program at Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a key member of our team, you will provide clinical care under the supervision of a fully licensed physician and participate in the call schedule as required.
Clinical ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Providing inpatient and outpatient care to individuals with end-stage kidney disease receiving kidney replacement therapy
- Liaising with nurses, attending staff, and other members of the healthcare team in the development and implementation of patient care plans
- Performing procedures within the scope of their demonstrated competence and privileges
- Arranging investigations and follow-up with an adequate action plan
- Communicating with patients, families, referring physicians, and other healthcare professionals concerning patient management plans
- Organizing and coordinating transfer of care to other services within the Central Zone and across the province
- Participating in resident/medical student training and evaluation
- Attending and contributing to educational sessions and rounds as time permits
We are looking for a candidate who:
- Meets the requirements to obtain a Clinical Assistant License from The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia
- Has obtained (in writing) Review of Qualifications from The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia prior to application deadline
- Has CMPA coverage
- Has ACLS certification
- Has a good command of written and spoken English
- Can promote and maintain good interpersonal skills
- Has completion of the equivalence of a rotating internship and postgraduate training and experience in Nephrology (an asset but not essential)
- Has physical and mental demands that meet the requirements of the position
The successful candidate will work a permanent, full-time position with 96 hours bi-weekly. The hourly rate is $65.81.
