The Office of the Auditor General (OAG) is an independent office of the Legislative Assembly, established under The Auditor General Act. Our mission is to provide independent information, advice, and assurance on government operations and the management of public funds.
About the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled Senior Auditor to join our team. As a Senior Auditor, you will work as a member of the financial statements service area to perform financial statements audits in accordance with Canadian Auditing Standards. You will supervise staff, oversee audit budgets, and actively participate in audit activities including planning, gathering evidence, and reporting of findings.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise staff and oversee audit budgets
- Perform financial statements audits in accordance with Canadian Auditing Standards
- Participate in audit activities including planning, gathering evidence, and reporting of findings
- Develop and implement audit plans and strategies
- Provide guidance and support to junior auditors
- CPA designation or working towards a CPA designation after having passed the CFE
- Extensive recent experience applying accounting principles and Canadian Auditing Standards (CAS) in conducting financial statement audits
- Superior analytical skills to identify and analyze problems and form logical conclusions
- Strong written communication skills to effectively communicate audit findings to a variety of stakeholders
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
