About the Role

The Manitoba Government is seeking a highly skilled Senior Auditor to join our team in the Office of the Auditor General. As a Senior Auditor, you will play a key role in providing independent information, advice, and assurance on government operations and the management of public funds.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct financial statement audits in accordance with Canadian Auditing Standards
  • Supervise staff and oversee audit budgets
  • Participate in audit activities, including planning, gathering evidence, and reporting of findings
  • Collaborate with financial statement managers and principals to ensure high-quality audit work

Requirements

  • CPA designation or working towards a CPA designation after having passed the CFE
  • Extensive recent experience applying accounting principles and Canadian Auditing Standards (CAS) in conducting financial statement audits
  • Superior analytical skills to identify and analyze problems and form logical conclusions
  • Strong written communication skills to effectively communicate audit findings to a variety of stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
