Dementia Research Recruitment Specialist
The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health is seeking a highly skilled Research Coordinator to join our team. This full-time, contract (12 months) position will play a critical role in supporting the recruitment of participants for clinical trials.
In this role, you will be responsible for managing an initiative that connects members of the public with researchers leading studies at our sites. You will work closely with investigators to develop plain-language descriptions of their studies, oversee participant recruitment, and assess eligibility. Additionally, you will contact potential participants, discuss potential studies, and support researchers with the submission of documents to research ethics boards.
You will also be responsible for maintaining our website that lists the studies, ensuring each study has requisite approvals, and tracking participant enrollment. As a key member of our Coordinating Centre, you will support document review, report preparation, and collaboration with other team members to achieve shared deliverables.
This position requires a Master's degree in Science and two years of relevant experience working in a research environment. You should have experience recruiting research participants, interacting with individuals and family members with dementia, and working or volunteering in a health services or academic setting.
A strong understanding of the Canadian clinical research healthcare system and public health environment is essential. You should be able to explain complex issues in plain language, both verbally and in writing, to both research and non-research audiences. Bilingualism (French/English) or proficiency in a second language would be an asset.
This is a great opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to dementia research and work with a talented team. We offer a competitive salary of $65,000-$85,000 per year, depending on experience, and a dynamic work environment that values diversity and inclusion.
