Clinical Research Recruitment Specialist

Job Overview
The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Research Recruitment Specialist to join their team. This full-time, contract position (12 months) will be responsible for managing the initiative that supports recruitment to clinical trials.
About the Role
The successful candidate will report to the Director, Strategy & Operations and the Executive Director. They will be responsible for connecting members of the public with researchers leading studies at TDRA sites, supporting investigators in developing plain-language descriptions of their studies, and overseeing the recruitment of participants by reviewing requests from interested potential study participants.
Key Responsibilities
- Assessing eligibility of potential participants and contacting them to discuss potential studies;
- Supporting researchers with the submission of documents to research ethics boards;
- Maintaining the website that lists the studies and ensuring that each listed study has all requisite approvals;
- Leading the update of documents and data capture tools;
- Closely tracking the number of participants successfully enrolled.
Requirements
The successful candidate will have a Master's degree in Science, two years of relevant experience working in a research environment, and experience recruiting research participants. Interacting with individuals and family members with dementia is an asset. Previous experience working or volunteering in a health services or academic setting would be beneficial.
Desirable Skills and Qualifications
- Experience with RedCAP;
- Previous experience tracking projects/project management experience;
- Advanced computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint), Internet Search engines;
- The ability to explain complex issues in plain language both verbally and in writing to both research and non-research audiences;
- Demonstrated ability to develop strong relationships with multiple stakeholders in the field of dementia;
- An understanding of the Canadian clinical research healthcare system and public health environment;
- The ability to manage and adapt to diverse work environments and conditions;
- Candidates require the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Estimated Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year
