Cloud Software Architect

As a Cloud Software Architect at Wind River, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing high-level software architecture solutions for our OpenStack-based cloud infrastructure tailored to the Telecom core network.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with OpenStack, Kubernetes, and a deep understanding of cloud computing principles, and specific knowledge of Telecom core networks.

You will work closely with Product Line Management, Sales, and customer architects to determine software requirements, and contribute to the open-source community with the aim of advancing the community.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and implementing high-level software architecture solutions for OpenStack-based cloud infrastructure
  • Developing and deploying OpenStack services on the Wind River Cloud Platform as Kubernetes containerized services
  • Collaborating with other architects to define technical roadmap for Wind River OpenStack
  • Contributing to the open-source community with the aim of advancing the community
  • Mentoring senior developers in technology, industry best practices, procedures, and concepts

Requirements include:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field
  • ~10+ years experience in cloud technologies, with typically 14+ years of experience in software engineering
  • ~ Knowledge of networking, storage, and virtualization technologies
  • ~ Experience with Telecom core network protocols and standards
  • ~ Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Go, and other common infrastructure management languages
  • ~ Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools
  • ~ Strong understanding of software architecture principles, design patterns, and best practices
