Cloud Software Architect – Wind River OpenStack

Job Summary

The Software Architect for the OpenStack platform will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing high-level software architecture solutions for our OpenStack-based cloud infrastructure tailored to the Telecom core network.

The solution involves deploying OpenStack services on the Wind River Cloud Platform as Kubernetes containerized services for an on-premise core network solution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop high-level software architecture solutions for OpenStack-based cloud infrastructure
  • Deploy OpenStack services on the Wind River Cloud Platform as Kubernetes containerized services
  • Collaborate with Product Line Managers, Engineering Project Managers, Development Managers, developers, and other architects to plan ongoing feature development
  • Work with Product Line Management, Sales, and customer architects to determine software requirements
  • Contribute to the open-source community with the aim of advancing the community
  • Mentor senior developers in technology, industry best practices, procedures, and concepts
Requirements

Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field

~10+ years experience in cloud technologies, with typically 14+ years of experience in software engineering

~ Knowledge of networking, storage, and virtualization technologies

~ Experience with Telecom core network protocols and standards

~ Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Go, and other common infrastructure management languages

~ Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools

~ Strong understanding of software architecture principles, design patterns, and best practices

~ Experience in participating and contributing to open-source projects
