Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our team at Synagro. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for performing corrective, emergency, and preventative mechanical maintenance throughout the plant to ensure safe and efficient working environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on plant equipment, including lubrication, cleaning, and inspection
  • Identify and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, and implement repairs as needed
  • Conduct preventative maintenance on plant equipment in accordance with standardized procedures and manuals
  • Collaborate with plant managers to ensure safety and environmental compliance
  • Participate in Synagro's Environmental Health and Safety program
Requirements
  • 5-10 years of experience in an industrial maintenance setting
  • Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Knowledge of CMMS systems, Excel, Microsoft Windows/Office
  • Millwright ticket is an asset
Working Conditions

Typically working hours will be Monday to Friday, 7am to 3pm, with the possibility of being scheduled on rotating days, including weekends, based on processing rates and maintenance needs. Must be available to work additional hours, weekends, and emergency call-ins.

Personal protective equipment, such as a hard hat, eye protection, hearing protection, respirators, FR coveralls, and safety boots are mandatory.

Environmental conditions may include hot, cold, dirt, dust, wet, or noise in an industrial setting. Subject to hazards, including proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to bio-solids.

The worker is subject to vibration: exposure to oscillating movements of extremities or whole body.

The workers may be exposed to close quarters, crawl space, small, enclosed rooms, small sewage and water line pipes, and other areas which could cause claustrophobia.
