About the Role

GEMTEC Consulting Engineers & Scientists Limited is a leading provider of specialized services, and we are seeking highly skilled and motivated individuals to join our team as UXO Technicians/Technician Supervisors.

Key Responsibilities
  • The UXO Technician will be responsible for conducting thorough searches and reconnoiters to identify and classify unexploded ordnance and military munitions, and will excavate subsurface UXO as required.
  • The UXO Technician will also be responsible for moving and transporting explosive materials and UXO that have been deemed safe for transport, and will prepare firing systems for destruction operations.
  • Additionally, the UXO Technician will operate personnel decontamination stations and assist in inspecting materials that may present an explosive hazard.
  • The UXO Technician will also be responsible for properly storing explosive materials in accordance with applicable guidelines.
Qualifications
  • Retired Canadian Armed Forces members with experience in explosive ordnance disposal, or
  • Graduates of a formal UXO training course.
Working Conditions
  • Seasonal/Contract position, approximately 40 hours per week.
  • Per diems and travel allowance may be provided when applicable.
