About the Role

GEMTEC Consulting Engineers & Scientists Limited is a leading provider of specialized services, and we are seeking highly skilled and motivated individuals to join our team as UXO Technicians/Technician Supervisors.

Key Responsibilities
  • The UXO Technician will be responsible for conducting thorough searches, classifying, and identifying unexploded ordnance (UXO) and military munitions, as well as excavating subsurface UXO and transporting explosive materials.
  • The UXO Technician will also prepare firing systems for destruction operations, operate personnel decontamination stations, and assist in inspecting materials that may pose an explosive hazard.
  • The UXO Technician Supervisor will provide technical supervision to UXO Technicians, assist in preparing risk and hazards analyses, and ensure proper storage of explosive materials.
Qualifications
  • Retired Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) members with experience in explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) or hazardous materials handling, or;
  • Graduates of a formal UXO training course.
What We Offer
  • Seasonal/Contract positions with approximately 40 hours of work per week;
  • Per diems and travel allowances when applicable.
