About the Role

GHD is seeking a highly experienced Business Group Leader to lead our established Ontario Region business. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the operations and construction activities at the Green Lane Landfill, a fully operational landfill with a significant volume of waste received annually.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the commercial performance of the Landfill Business Group
  • Oversee operations and construction work at the Landfill
  • Ensure safety is at the forefront of all activities and is in compliance with company and Landfill policies, standards, and legislation
  • Formulate short and long-term goals and action plans to optimize the landfill, services, and environmental compliance
  • Provide leadership to the Business Group in line with GHD's core values and objectives
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years experience as an Operations manager directly responsible for the supervision, coordination, and management of operations on a landfill site managing greater than 400,000 tonnes MSW waste per year or equivalent
  • Experience in the methods and techniques of integrated solid waste management systems, including in-depth knowledge of landfill gas, leachate, and other landfill site systems
  • Knowledge of provincial and federal regulations related to waste management systems
  • Preference for possession of a Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) Manager of Landfill Operations (MOLO) certification (or willingness to obtain same)
