Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Compliance Advisor to join our team at Desjardins Group. As a senior legal and regulatory compliance expert, you will play a key role in designing, implementing, and coordinating our compliance framework.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead specialized development projects, initiatives, and activities that significantly impact the entire organization.
  • Identify, develop, and recommend legal and regulatory compliance strategic directions to balance business needs, requirements, and best practices.
  • Advise clients and partners to help them position, plan, develop, execute, and monitor strategic projects and initiatives.
  • Identify, analyze, diagnose, and address major issues and make recommendations to decision-making bodies.
  • Develop and update policies, standards, models, and programs to support your unit's strategic projects and initiatives.
  • Offer legal and regulatory compliance programs to internal employees to promote our culture of ethics and compliance.
  • Represent your unit before senior management committees and decision-making bodies.
  • Represent and negotiate on behalf of Desjardins and enter the organization into agreements with external partners and organizations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • A minimum of eight years of relevant experience.
  • Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered.
  • Knowledge of French is required.
  • Intermediate advanced proficiency of English due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with English-speaking partners, members, and/or clients.
