Untether AI is seeking a skilled firmware engineer to contribute to the development of firmware for our innovative product line. In the pre-silicon phase, you will collaborate with hardware engineers and the runtime software team to devise solutions for initialization, management, and debugging of our cutting-edge AI accelerators. Your responsibilities will include configuring and controlling hardware components such as PCIe, LPDDR, SPI, and various proprietary modules. You will be instrumental in the initial bring-up and validation of silicon, working closely with the runtime team to ensure the functionality provided to the host device drivers is robust and reliable. We value effective communication, organization, and attention to detail.

Key Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical or computer engineering, software engineering, or a related field.
  • Over 5 years of experience in firmware development for embedded systems and near real-time applications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proficient in C/C++ programming and debugging techniques.
  • Skilled in developing high-performance, reliable, multi-threaded applications.
  • Experienced in collaborative software development practices, including version control, code reviews, and architectural design.
Desirable Skills & Experience
  • Experience in writing low-level code for hardware peripheral interaction.
  • Familiarity with PCIe hardware and driver development.
  • Proficient with debugging tools such as JTAG and gdb.
  • Knowledge of RISC-V processor architecture and associated toolchains.
  • Experience with real-time operating systems like FreeRTOS or Zephyr.
  • Familiarity with instruction set simulators such as QEMU.
  • Experience in chip and board bring-up processes.
