About the Role

At Nature's Touch, we're seeking a highly skilled Corporate Food Safety and Compliance Manager to join our team in Montreal, Canada. Reporting to the VP of Global Food Safety and Quality Assurance, you'll be responsible for establishing high-level standards for ingredient suppliers and ensuring they meet our expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the team responsible for ingredient suppliers and assess their food safety performance.
  • Make hard decisions regarding food safety approval or rejection.
  • Establish and enforce high-level standards for suppliers to ensure food safety.
  • Work closely with suppliers to ensure proper execution and food safety compliance.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and various departments.
  • Provide great customer service, both internal and external, to meet critical timelines.
  • Visit and audit suppliers worldwide to certify food safety and integrity compliance.
  • Set and optimize relevant KPIs to demonstrate supplier department performance.
  • Ensure all related documentation is up-to-date.
  • Participate in investigation assessments, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Generate rejection letters when necessary.
  • Act proactively to mitigate food safety issues.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments to ensure safe food.
  • Support plant or department investigations involving ingredients.
  • Share expertise with our fresh-to-frozen process plants.
  • Stay up-to-date with new technologies, developments, and scientific discoveries.
  • Contribute to relevant initiatives, such as those of AFFI.

Requirements:

  • University degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in supervising a team.
  • Suppliers' approval experience in food, pharmaceutical, or cosmetics.
  • Food safety experience in a ready-to-eat environment is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills in English.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office.
