About the Opportunity

Lrostaffing is seeking a highly skilled Patent Agent with a background in electrical engineering to join our team at a National law firm.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Patent Drafting: Draft patents in the electrical field, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Patent Prosecution: Handle patent prosecution, working closely with clients to navigate the process.
  • Business Development: Identify new business opportunities and develop strategies to grow the patent practice.
  • Litigation Support: Provide support in litigation cases as required.

About You

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • Advanced Degree: An advanced degree in electrical engineering, computer sciences, or software engineering.
  • Registration: Registration as a Canadian Patent Agent.
  • Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Patent Agent.
  • Background: Previous experience in a law firm, IP boutique, or in-house setting.
  • Skills: Excellent drafting skills, strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Asset: US Patent Agent qualification and bilingualism are assets but not required.

About the Job

This is an excellent opportunity to join a thriving Patent Agency unit within a National law firm. An existing book of business would be an asset, but it's not required. A group of two or more Agents would also be considered. Salary is dependent on experience, and all applications will be held in the strictest of confidence.
