Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Medical Infection Prevention Specialist to join our Infection Prevention and Control Unit. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in preventing and controlling infections within our healthcare system.
In this role, you will be responsible for performing surveillance activities, acting as a resource for internal clients, providing education and training, and participating in professional development activities. You will also work closely with our Quality Improvement team to ensure excellence in infection prevention and control services.
Key Responsibilities- Perform surveillance activities to identify and prevent infections within UHN
- Act as a resource for internal clients, providing support and guidance on infection prevention and control best practices
- Develop and deliver education and training programs to promote infection prevention awareness and skills among internal care providers
- Collaborate with the Quality Improvement team to identify areas for improvement and implement evidence-based solutions
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Health or Allied Health Sciences, and/or Microbiology or recognized equivalent
- Experience working in a Hospital or long-term care facility preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
