Care Aide Specialist

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Aide to join our team at Vancouver Coastal Health. As a key member of our Long Term Care Unit, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality care to our clients.
Responsibilities- Under the guidance of a Registered Nurse or other designates, you will assist in the delivery of client care, including providing personal support, administering medications, and responding to client needs.
- You will follow established care plans to provide bathing, grooming, dressing, meal assistance, and oral hygiene services as required.
- Excellent communication skills are essential for effective collaboration with interdisciplinary teams and accurate documentation of client progress.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients and staff, adhering to infection control practices and reporting any concerns or issues promptly.
- A Grade 10 education (including English 10) is mandatory. We also require completion of a recognized Health Care Assistant Program or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Eligibility for registration with the BC Care Aide & Community Health Worker Registry is necessary.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and proficiently both verbally and in writing is crucial for success in this role.
