Job Summary

We are seeking a Recreation Program Instructor to join our team at the City of Windsor. As a Recreation Program Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching and supervising programs, ensuring a safe and clean environment, and providing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach and supervise programs for children and adults, including sports, fitness, and recreational activities.
  • Plan and implement programs, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for participants.
  • Conduct evaluations and maintain statistical data as required.
  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain positive public relations.
  • Perform Occupational Health & Safety duties as outlined in the Corporation's Health and Safety Program.
Qualifications
  • Must be a minimum of 15 years of age at time of employment.
  • Must have completed an Ontario Secondary School Grade 10 education or be able to obtain Grade 10 within 1 year of hire date or Ontario Ministry of Education equivalency.
  • Must have over three (3) months experience working in the sports/recreation field.
  • May require as a condition of employment current valid Standard First Aid and CPR Basic Rescuer (Level C) certificate obtained from a first aide WSIA Reg. 1101 training provider recognized by the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) for the full period of employment.
  • May require as a condition of employment High 5 Principles of Healthy Child Development certification.
  • Experience in teaching Karate, Gymnastics, Dance (Tap, Ballet, Jazz), Fitness, Yoga, Zumba, Spin, Piano and Guitar instruction considered a definite asset.
  • Experience in a Day Camp environment considered a definite asset.
  • Bilingualism (French and English) considered an asset.
